“Food is the Medium, Community is the Message” is our catchy vision statement. One of the goals of the Galiano Community Food Program from its inception has been to build community. And the way we do that is through the sharing of food with neighbours and community members.
Soup and Bread Lunch
Soup is sometimes more than soup.
It’s sustenance, comfort, a lifesaver, and a social glue. The community-building-fundraising movement of the same name in Chicago inspires our “Soup & Bread” Lunch.
Most Mondays the hall is open to everyone for lunch – come join us for a bottomless bowl of soup. Lunch runs from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. There is a suggested donation of $5-$10
Games Night
One Thursday a month, at 6pm till 8pm we hold a Community Games Night at the hall. Come to the Community Hall for an evening of games with your friends and neighbours! There’s Scrabble, Twister, Ping Pong, Apples to Apples, Cards, Chess, Game of Life, Othello, Trivia, Crib and many more…Come for supper. Everyone is welcome! There is a suggested donation of $10

Frozen Meals
Meals are $6-$8 (sliding scale) each and available from the hall during Soup and Bread on Mondays, or by delivery on Wednesdays. Contact galianofoodprograms@gmail.com or Better at Homes service through the Health care centre for more information about the delivery service.- Shepherds Pie
