Policy:

  1. The Galiano Club recognizes the importance of ensuring that employee skills related to their job requirements and profession are maintained at an acceptable level. To this end, the Galiano Club is committed to provide employees with access to professional development through job related courses or workshops.

Procedures:

  1. The Galiano Club may provide assistance for approved job-related courses and workshops.
  2. Employees may select appropriate resources and times for professional development, subject to approval of the Executive Director and a member of the Board, availability of funds and work schedules. Employees should discuss options with the Executive Director to see if it’s relevant, within budget and if time can be allotted. The Executive Director should discuss options for professional development with the Governance and Nominations Committee.
